Super close to Yosemite (the 'Rockin' side of the National Park). Here at Warm and Wonderful you can socialize in total privacy and enjoy the amenities without disturbing anyone. Guests tell us it is less than the cost of a hotel when they consider eating the food they want, when they want, snacks, cocktails, play at the pool, and jacuzzi in private, absolutely priceless. Yes, we have our 'early booking'' special again this year (no booking fee as you book directly thru me). The first 5 bookings of 2017 will be at the $500 per night, 7th night at no charge, cleaning fee is standard $300. That is a saving of over $1000 per week 'in season' rate!
I've had several people ask so I'll help you now. We are NOT on the landslide side of Yosemite. That is a long way from here. You have to go to Mariposa, thru Mariposa about 40 minutes to the rock slide (one lane road with long traffic light) and then further up into the park to THAT gate. We are very near (about 20'ish minutes total) from the popular SOUTH gate, the same side as Mariposa Grove, Wawona Stables, Narrow Gage RR, Goat Meadow, Oakhurst village, and of course, BEAUTIFUL Bass Lake.
People call the Ahwahnee Riverbend Area (one of the Gateways to Yosemite) spectacular, we call it Shangri-La. Ross and I chose these beautiful mountain meadows for the weather and location. Our meadow is warm in the winter and cool in the summer at 2000 elevation, we are rumored to have the best year round weather in this area. It really is amazing and truly Warm and Wonderful. Less than 5 miles North on Hwy 49 from Oakhurst, 15 minutes from Bass Lake and about the same to enter High Sierra mountains and Yosemite. Just 20 miles North is Mariposa Fairground (tons of activities and mining museum w/millions in bullion, wow) and the historic mining town of Mariposa is only 30 minutes north.

We can accomodate 8 adults and the rental is $500 per night ( fee for cleaning $300- Vat/Tot tax 11% on the rental, only), minimum 4 nights but with 6 nights the 7th night is included at no charge. We run 'specials' out of season so always check the special rate section of VRBO. There is no charge for your pets. Dogs must be accepted prior to your arrival. The house is 4800 sq ft (7 1/2 acres, fully fenced) of beautiful. The kitchen is really big with lovely grey quartzite counter tops and easy to use appliances, ample counter space to cook, walk-in pantry and complete laundry room.
The house has four bedrooms. Two are full suites (one Cal King, one Queen) with private bathrooms (one suite can have TWO private bathrooms) and both have private entrance/exit from the house. The 3rd + 4th have Kings and a lovely view of the meadows (1 has private entrance/exit). Our capacity at this time is eight adults, children are welcome and we can usually add a few with some sleeping consideration . We have four bedrooms and 3 ½ bathrooms.
There are three flat screen TV’s. One in the Master Suite (45”) has Netflix, really big one in the den (52”), and the third (36”) is in front of the fireplace in the living room. You have lots of movies and can hook up your private netflix on any tv as there is wifi. Our dvd library of movies and shows is fairly large. If you need high speed Internet there is wireless and wifi almost everywhere on the estate.
The pool is quite large with easy access and open entrances from two rock stairways. It's about 40,000 gal (we heat the pool seasonally due to ground temp and there is no additional charge) and Jacuzzi (heats up fast) is over 500 gal. The natural rock waterfall is almost one story high and the deck around the pool has plenty of room for our four umbrellas and seating for 20 people to sit and talk. Our motto is ‘Sit Long, Talk Much’.
We are less than five miles from a rockin’ mountain village (Oakhurst) with 20 great restaurants, a full multi screen cinema, microbrewery, and Raley’s grocery; famous for quality markets in Bel Aire and Knob Hill. There are numerous art galleries, retail stores, and farmer’s markets. We are ½ mile from Hwy 49 and very accessible. Yosemite is too beautiful for words. You can ride a narrow gage logging train, see Glacier Point, Bridleveil Falls, or just wander the glories of nature. Now THAT is truly spectacular.
If you like water sports, 12 miles away you can play at Bass Lake in season water skiing, boating, fishing (rod + fly) and a classy restaurant and bar with patio overlooking the lake and boat dock. The lake is beautiful because spring rain makes it clean, crisp, and clear.
A little over one mile north on Hwy 49 is the hottest Cowboy bar in two counties with bands, dancing, big screen TV for sports, great food and tons of local ‘color’.
We are less than a mile from ‘Open Range’ where cattle and their calves graze along the road and we have a working cattle ranch two miles away where you can watch real cowboys (and cowgirls) sort and rope cattle during the season.
You can pan for gold (good luck) a half mile away at a secluded riverside park. We’re walking distance from a darling nine hole golf course with restaurant, and bar. The meadows in this area are lovely and perfect for all season activities as you see from the photos of the estate.
SO MUCH TO DO, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!
If you are road weary travelers, couples wishing an exclusive get-away (rarely see neighbors, they are some distance away), best friends that just want to ‘chill’, or crave to wander the mountains with your pets (we have maps)—This is the place for you. You can 4-wheel drive, Yosemite Zip, horseback ride, golf, hike, bike, ride the railroad, work cattle, ski (both kinds), swim, sight-see, shop, browse art galleries, eat, play, and love.
